VALLEHERMOSO, NEGROS ORIENTAL – 276 residents of Brgy Maglahos, Vallehermoso withdrew their support against the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) and vowed to support to the peace initiatives of the Vallehermoso Municipal Task Force To End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELCAC) during the Local Peace Engagement (LPE) facilitated by Vallehermoso LGU, 62nd Infantry “Unifier” Battalion, Philippine Army and Vallehermoso Municipal Police Station held at Barangay Plaza, Brgy Maglahos, Vallehermoso, Negros Oriental, Saturday, June 4, 2022.
The activity was highlighted by a symbolic burning of the NPA flag to show that the residents no longer agreed to the wrongdoings of this terrorist group. Afterwhich, the residents denounced their support to the CPP-NPA-NDF by rendering the “Panumpa sa Kalinong” officiated by Hon. Angelito Estoica, Punong Barangay. Offering prayer and candle lighting for the victims of Communist NPA Terrorist (CNT) atrocities and human rights victims were also conducted. Moreover, the release of doves was initiated to symbolize peace, unity, and freedom from CNT terroristic threats.
“We are grateful to our local government, the police, and the army of 62IB for securing and maintaining peace in our barangay. We don’t want chaos, we want peace and we promise to continue our support to all the government programs here in our barangay”, expressed by Hon. Angelito Estoica, Punong Barangay of Brgy Maglahos.
