Mga Former rebel sa Negros Occidental, nabigyan ng livelihood aid

Nabigyan ng livelihood aid mula sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)ang nasa 25 former rebel na miyembro ng Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) nito lamang Martes sa Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

Ayon sa mga awtoridad, ipinamahagi ang naturang assistance sa pangunguna ni Mayor Rogelio Raymund Tongson, Chairman ng City Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict kasama sina Colonel Orlando Edralin, Commander NG 303rd Infantry Brigade at si Lt. Col. Van Donald Almonte, Commander NG 94th Infantry Battalion.

Nakatanggap ang nasabing mga former rebel ng tig-sasampung libong cash assistance mula sa Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) ng pamahalaan.

Nagpasalamat naman si Mayor Tongson sa mga nagbalik loob na dating rebelde at tiniyak na hindi titigil sa pagtulong sa iba pang mga miyembro na nagbabalak sumuko sa pamahalaan. Anya, “We will work together to support the Himamaylanons who have decided to return to the fold of the law and be reunited with their families.”
