Iloilo City- Pumirma sa Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on peace, security and safety of educational institutions and provision of essential services and support ang Department of Education, Armed Forces of the Philippines, at Philippine National Police, kasama ang iba pang mga ahensya bilang pagsuporta sa mga hakbang ng pamahalaan na protektahan ang lahat ng kabataan sa pag-rerecruit ng CPP-NPA-NDF.
Ginanap ang naturang MOA signing nitong Setyembre 5, 2022 sa Madia-as Hall, Police Regional Office 6 (PRO 6), Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City.
Ang nasabing MOA ay matibay na hakbangin upang patuloy na mabantayan ang kapakanan ng lahat ng kabataan at mag-aaral sa rehiyon.
Sa kanyang mensahe, sinabi ni Atty Flosemer Chris I Gonzales, Associate Provincial Prosecutor and Spokesperson, RTF-ELCAC 6, na isa lamang ang kanilang layunin, ito ay protektahan ang lahat ng paaralan at ang mga kabataan sa kapahamakan na maaaring mangyari sa kanila sakaling mabiktima sila sa makakaliwang grupo.
“We are coming together for one simple reason; we want to protect our children nothing more, nothing less and what we see here today is the convergence of various government agencies, and we will realize that protecting our children is not only the job of the police and the military, but it is also the job of all agencies present,” dagdag pa niya.
Dumalo sa MOA signing ang mga pinuno ng DepEd, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Education (DepEd), National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Philippine Science High School Western Visayas Campus (PSHSWVC), Police Regional Office 6 (PRO 6), 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division), at kasapi ng media.
Pinuri naman ni MGen Benedict M Arevalo, 3ID Commander si Atty Gonzales sa inisyatibo nito na siguraduhin at bigyang halaga ang kapakanan at seguridad ng kabataan sa buong rehiyon.
Aniya: “It is not only protecting your children; it is protecting our future. It is not just my future, not your future; it is everybody’s future. When we secure the children, we secure the future, as fondly said by our national heroes. I am happy that the effort is being done by the whole of government and eventually with the whole of nation approach including other sectors of the society.”
“We must not forget that the children of today are the leaders of tomorrow, and we want to secure and ensure that the leaders of tomorrow would be in the same right mentality and dedication that we have as public servants we should be able to secure them now more than later,” dagdag pa niya.
