93 former CPP members mula sa Leyte, nagbalik loob sa pamahalaan

Leyte – Hindi bababa sa 93 indibidwal mula sa apat na mass organizations sa munisipalidad ng Alang-alang, Leyte Psa ilalim ng Alang-alang Seksyon Komite (ASK), Regional White Area Committee, Eastern Visayas Regional Party Committee ang pormal na idineklara ng CPP-NPA-NDF ang kanilang pagtalikod sa pagsuporta mula sa communist terrorist group at nanumpa ng katapatan sa gobyerno.

Inabandona nila ang kanilang mga dating organisasyong pinamumunuan ng CTG na kinabibilangan ng Alang-alang Small Farmers Association (ASFA); Salvation Coconut Farmers Association (SALCOFA); Alyansa ng mga Tao at Samahan ng mga Magsasaka at Manggagawa (AGAPITA); at Support Group of Lovers of the Women’s Association of Alang-alang (BISAKA).

Ang mga indibidwal na ito ay nagbuklod upang bumuo ng Alang-alang Integrated Peace and Development Workers Association at inihalal nila ang unang hanay ng mga opisyal.

Ayon kay Brig. Gen. Noel A. Vestuir, Commander ng 802nd Infantry Brigade, kasama ang mga local government units ng Alang-alang, Leyte, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) Regional Office 8, Philippine National Police (PNP) at iba pang ahensya ng gobyerno ang naging daan para sa pagbabalik ng mga nalinlang na residente ng Alang-alang sa pamahalaan at sa lipunan.

Pinangunahan ni Gov. Carlos Jericho Petilla ng Leyte ang Civil Government Officials kabilang sina NICA-RO8 Regional Director Tacy Bacabac at Alang-alang Municipal Mayor Lovell Ann M. Yu sa pagtanggap sa mga nagbabalik na dating miyembro at tagasuporta ng CTG.

Sinabi ni Major General Camilo Ligayo, 8ID Commander at Chairman ng Technical Working Group (TWG) ng Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) 8, “Is on hand as well to lead the pursuit for the whole of government approach and the whole of nation participation anchored in good governance in ending the local communist armed conflict”.

Mga ahensya ng National Government tulad ng 8th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Office of Civil Defense, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Agriculture, Department of Trade and Industry, Cooperative Development Authority, Department of Agrarian Reform, Philippine Statistics Authority, bukod sa iba pa, ang dumalo sa okasyon upang ipakita ang kanilang suporta sa normalisasyon ng buhay ng mga dating miyembro at tagasuporta ng CTG.

Mensahe ni Gen. Noel A. Vestuir, 802nd Brigade Commander, “the success in compelling the members of the CTG affiliated Mass Organizations (CAMOs) was achieved through the concerted efforts of the Leyte Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PFT ELCAC), Alangalang Municipal TF ELCAC, the member agencies of the 12 clusters and the members of Integrated Peace and Development Workers Association (IPDWA) who are former CPP-NPA-NDF armed regulars, party members and cadres in the implementation of the whole of nation approach”.

Dagdag pa, “While the provinces of Leyte, Southern Leyte, and Biliran is generally peaceful, we have to sustain our efforts to totally eradicate the connections of the CPP-NPA-NDF from their former affiliated mass organizations in the urban area. We have to free our people from their influence and exploitation and put a stop to their propaganda and fund generation scheme. I reiterate my call to the NPA remnants who are still hiding in the mountains to go down, lay down your arms, join your families and loved ones, and enjoy a safe, peaceful, and happy life in the mainstream of our society”.
